The Box is planted in Blue Mountain Reservation in Peekskill, New York.

Click here to download and print a copy of the trail map, they are not always available at the park.

Please note that there is a fee to drive into the park from late spring to early fall.

At the Brown Entrance Booth of Blue Mountain Park – make a left at this "Y" and follow road past Trail Lodge to the last parking Lot with the Lake on the Right. The starting point Trail head will be on your left as you enter this parking lot, it has a Number "1" and a yellow trail yield directions sign. There is also a post that has blue green and yellow blazes.

You want to take the Blue Mountain Summit Trail; most of the intersections have numbered posts or trees, however there are a few locations where the markers are missing but the trails are well maintained and they correspond with the map. Where marker "5" should be bear left, where marker "11" should be continue straight, at "30" there is a marker and a sign with an Arrow pointing to the right to go to the summit, follow the sign.

After a short steep climb, you will come to another Arrow, this one pointing to the left off the main trail to an overlook of the Hudson River. After you give a few "oooo's" and "aaaahs" for the view, go back to the tree with the Arrow. From the tree, continue the way you were going on the main trail for approximately 47 steps to an approximate 7" diameter maple tree at the right edge of the trail. From this tree sight 80* and go approximately 17 steps. This should bring you to where 2 rocks meet; right under where they touch, you will need to move a wedge and a frisbee to find your prize.

Please rehide carefully and better than how you found it.

To get back to your car, back at marker "30" you can go back the way you came or for a nice circuit, head to the right, note that marker "31" is missing; when you hit the yellow trail, turn left... The complete loop is approximately 3.5 miles.

Record your find at LbNA or AQ.

CYA ON THE TRAIL!!!! :o)
